Mohini is a UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) Registered Attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist. This modality of psychotherapy explores how early relationships shape our patterns of trust, intimacy and self-worth through uncovering unconscious patterns rooted in childhood. Bringing awareness to the unconscious patterns support the development of secure, connected and fulfilling relationships.
Mohini integrates a somatic awareness into her work, recognising that emotional experiences and trauma are held not only in the mind, but also within the body and nervous system. Her advanced training in Hatha Yoga and mindfulness-based practices has deepened her understanding of the relationship between psychological and physiological experience. She works attentively with bodily sensations, nervous system responses, emotional states, and patterns of tension or disconnection, supporting clients in developing greater awareness, regulation, embodiment, and emotional resilience.
I have a particular interest in working with mixed-race and multicultural identity, including the emotional complexities that can arise from navigating different cultural, racial, familial and social worlds. Experiences of not fully belonging, code-switching, cultural dislocation, internal conflict, invisibility, othering, or feeling divided between identities can have a profound impact on self-esteem, relationships, and sense of self. For some, these experiences may also be linked to racial trauma, intergenerational experiences, attachment wounds, or questions around home, belonging and identity formation.
Mohini facilitates Race and Culture Seminars to groups and psychotherapy trainees, creating a space for critical discussions on power, privilege, and belonging. Through her teaching and clinical practice, she encourages deep reflection and meaningful dialogue, supporting both personal and collective growth.
Mohini is a Vice President with over twelve years of experience in the financial sector, offering a deep understanding of high-pressure environments, the complexities of professional life, and the systemic challenges related to racism and gender. She leverages this insight while leading mindfulness meditation sessions, facilitating corporate group well-being yoga classes, and conducting workplace well-being workshops.
